Cycling near Oxford

Oxfordshire is a perfect county to discover from the saddle.

20,000 cyclists ride into or out of Oxford every day – and with such varied countryside and level terrain on offer outside the city, it is hardly surprising that so many take to the towpaths and explore the scenic county by bike. Much of the Oxford Canal is open to cyclists and the National Cycle Network route 5, which runs from Reading to Birmingham, follows the canal for a short distance in North Oxford.
