Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Llangollen
One of the most breathtaking waterway landmarks in Britain.
This magnificent aqueduct carries the Llangollen Canal over the River Dee. At 126ft high it took ten years for Thomas Telford to build, and is truly a spectacular architectural feat. Whilst there take a visit to the nearby Chirk aqueduct, which is equally impressive at 70ft high. For the best view hire a boat - a service is available at the canal for up to 12 people.
