‘Tis the season to be jolly – and lace up your walking boots for Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual Winter Wonderland Friendship Walk.
With the Christmas period just weeks away, now is the perfect time to wrap up warm and walk for breast cancer research on Sunday 7 December in Henley-on-Thames. Olympic rower, Louisa Reeve, has already signed up for the six-mile festive stroll and wants other walkers to join her on the day and enjoy mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.
Breast Cancer Campaign currently funds three projects in Oxford worth more than £295,000 and the money raised from this walk will help fund Professor Leonard Seymour’s research project at the University of Oxford.
Participation is £10 per adult, free for under 16s and everyone is encouraged to raise money for the sponsored walk, which starts at Henley-on-Thames Youth Centre at 12pm. Each walker will receive some snowflake head boppers, a goody bag, medal and post walk festive refreshments.
If you would like to join Louisa on the daytime walk, or if you would like information on becoming a Walk Champ and arranging your own walk, please call 020 7749 4126 or visit www.breastcancercampaign.org.
